Summer Fun Has Begun!

I am almost done with my first week of summer vacation.  We are so far having a ton of fun!  (Now ask me that in a couple weeks, and it might be a different story, hee, hee.)  I am keeping the kids busy so they cannot bicker and fight.  So far, so good!

Our neighbors across the street with the fish pond, Ken and Caryn, gave us these little scooters.  They had been sitting in their basement for over two years and were happy to get rid of them.  Yay for Dane and Ryleigh!

You just wiggle the steering wheel and the scooter moves.  It was neat to watch Ryleigh observe Dane doing it, because then she finally accomplished being able to do it too.

Our schedule has been going to the YMCA in the morning, so I can workout and Dane and Ryleigh play in the childwatch.  Then we come home, have lunch, take a nap, and go to the park for swimming fun, and then Dane has swimming lessons at 5:00pm.  Busy, yet fun and relaxing day!

While Dane has his 1/2 hour lesson, I have to try to keep Ryleigh busy, yet keep a close eye on Dane.  This is probably the hardest part of my day.  Tough life, I know!

Dane's lessons always take place in the lower left corner.

Today he plugged his nose and plunged himself underwater, and he used a swim-board while kicking his feet.  He was very proud of himself!  He also went underwater a bit with his goggles on (we first practiced in the bathtub).   I picked a great time for swim lessons (5:00pm) because there is no one else with him, so he gets one-on-one attention.  I will definitely do this time from now on!
