Last night Dane's clip was aired on America's Funniest Videos. He was shown twice because they also had a mini-clip of it in the intro of the show.

Talk Talk Talk
Dane is constantly babbling and carrying on a conversation but much if it sounds chinese. However, we are slowly starting to recognize more and more sounds for words that he is trying to say. For instance, boo boo is blueberry and mil is milk. Here we are working on his enunciation.

17 Months
So Dane is 17 months today. Here are some of the things he can do:
His vocabulary:
momma, dadda, kitty, hot, mil (for milk), meow, moo, caw caw, woof, mmm mmm mmm, ma-maa (for grandma), da-daa (for grandpa). (Today I heard him say grandma very clearly, but I couldn't get him to say it again.)
He understands:
I can ask him where just about anything is in a room or on his body and he can point to it. I also can ask him to do something or go somewhere and he can do it (when he wants to though, ha ha). I can pretty much talk to him and he understands as long as I keep it simple.
Things he can do:
throw, catch and kick a ball, dance in circles without falling down, easily take his toys apart and put them back together, help with minor tasks around the house, take off his shoes, socks and pants, point out and tell us anything that is hot, sit quietly and flip through books by himself, use his play tools properly (pound the hammer, turn the screw driver etc.), attempt to jump but can't get his feet off the floor, and he can smile on command =)
I am sure there is more, but that is all I can think of for now =)

A Much Needed Update
I know I have been rarely updating the blog, but hopefully now that I am all moved in down here in Grosse Pointe, I should have some more time.
Today we took Dane to the zoo, but it was really cold and most of the animals were curled up sleeping. We'll have to go back in the spring when it is warmer and the animals are more active. But he did see butterflies and birds (that weren't flying), sleeping otters, sleeping polar bear, sleeping white fox, sleeping camel thing, sleeping snake, and AWAKE crocodiles, turtles, and fish, ha ha. I think he liked the birds the most because they were squaking and really colorful.
We also took a tour at the YMCA becuase I am thinking of joining. There is a daycare there so that I can workout while Dane plays. He had a lot of fun walking around the building and exploring, so I think he will have no problem going there. I am really looking forward to going and having some time to myself!
A month late, but here are some pictures from Christmas: (If it doesn't work, click on "view all images"
