My Proud Mommy Moment
Today was the first time I left Dane with complete strangers. We went to church and I brought him to the nursery. My worst fears were that he was not going to know how to play with the other kids and try to take the toys away from them or he was going to cry hysterically because he didn't know anyone. When I got there I told the lady I had never left him with anyone before, and I could see the sarcastic look of "oh great" in her eyes. I kinda chuckled to myself wondering what she was thinking she was getting herself into, but I assured her that he was a good baby and he should not give her any problems. Then my friend plopped him down on the floor and he immediately started to play with the blocks and put everything in his mouth (this was my "oh great" germaphobic moment). I then proceeded to say goodbye to him, but he was too busy playing. I then left and checked on him twice throughout the service. Both times he was playing nicely with the other kids. My "Oh So Proud Mommy Moment" came when I went to pick him up afterward. I peeked my head in and I saw Dane sitting on the floor. There was a little girl (probably a couple months older) standing in front of him and looking at him. Dane had a toy in his hand, he held it up to her, smiled and said, "da," and she took it. Oh my gosh! My heart just melted! So proud of my little boy for being nice and sharing =) The lady then told me he did wonderfully and he can come back anytime! Yay!
