Ryleigh's Pretend Birthday

Dane loves to pretend to make cakes with me (and also pancakes, pizza, and french fries).  Today I told him we could make a real one and he was very excited!   He then wanted to pretend it was for a birthday.  I suggested the kitties, but he thought that was silly.  So it ended up being for Ryleigh...

Pictures this week

We finally got some snow over the weekend, and Dane got his first chance to put on his snowsuit and play outside.  Here he is playing with an empty kitty litter container.

Ryleigh 4 1/2 months old.  Yesterday she went to a pediatric cardiologist to make sure there was nothing wrong with her heart.  (She had a couple episodes in the middle of the night where she seemed to not be breathing and gasped for air when I woke her up.)  The heart doctor did an EKG on her and an ultrasound, and he said both were beautiful.  Woo hoo!

This is Kim.  She is our hero for dashing across Mack Avenue to rescue Dane when he ventured out of the house on his own.  We brought her a single white rose.

Alek took off all of the countertops and is putting up wainscoting in the kitchen and the bottom half of the dining room.  In the kitchen, it will be stained the same color as the cabinets and in the dining room, it will be painted white like the trim.

The toy room has its first coat of paint on (by me) and the chair rail is starting to go up.

Today Dane turned 2 years and 5 months old.  Yesterday this little guy gave us all a scare by sneaking out of the house and wandering around on the sidewalk on busy Mack Avenue.  Luckily some employees at an insurance agency spotted him, called the police right away and he was brought home safely.  Once again, our guardian angel was watching over us.

My Beautiful Babies!

Often when I look at Ryleigh, she  reminds me of Dane when he was a baby. So, I found some pictures to compare.  See for yourself :)

Both are around 4 months old.

Goodbye Yellow!

Susan, Abby's friend from Maine that she used to paint with, flew in to help her paint our house.  We are having them paint everything as the trim, ceiling and walls are all yellow and they are also removing the wall paper.   We are so thankful and fortunate to have these two experts working for us!  These pictures are just the start of the project - the ceilings are being painted white and there are tests samples on the walls.  I will try to post more updated pictures soon.

(Other projects include redesigning the fireplace, staining the cabinets dark brown, putting in granite countertop, staining and refinishing the hardwood floors and putting in new carpet upstairs.    With all of these projects, we will not be moving in for quite a few weeks - guessing about 6.)
