Memorial Week Photos

Alek took a week off of work after his two week annual training in Grayling so that we could have our first family vacation. First, we went to Great Wolf Lodge Water Park in Traverse City, MI for 3 days and 2 nights. Dane had so much fun and would have stayed in the park all day if we would have let him. We then headed up to the Sault to visit family. Mary and I took Dane for a walk where he saw a "big truck on water" dumping rocks into the canal. He was so amazed and even a week later he is still talking about it, along with the "big bucket of water, woosh" from the water park.

For Memorial Day we were back home in Grosse Pointe Farms. Alek's brother and sister-in-law Matt and Angie Willson invited us to Windmill Park where Dane was able to play around in a splash pad and eat and play football with his cousins and a few other boys. It was so cute to see him running around with them laughing and tossing the ball to each other.

Overall we all had a great time and have lots of good photos for memories. I made a photo book for Dane too of the pictures so that he could remember the fun times.

And a few pictures taken from my mom's camera that didn't get put in the slideshow.

Both Our Children =)

I can now post pictures of both our children!

This is the first time I was able to ask Dane to go stand by the wall so I could take his picture and he actually did it! Usually there is a lot of bribing and me chasing after him to place him back. He pretty much understands everything I say and listens pretty well for a 21 month old boy =)

Our baby girl at 24 weeks. I swear I am much bigger than this. Must have been having a "skinny day" if that is possible while pregnant. Still no name picked out yet. Thought I had one (get to pick this time), but now I am not so sure. Can't make up my mind.

Mother's Day

It was just me and Dane today for Mother's Day because Alek was working, but we had a blast anyway. We went for three walks (Dane learned to point out all of the fire hydrants and American flags hanging from houses), we went to two parks, played with water, and had rice cream (non-dairy ice cream).

This was our first time to the GP Woods Park, and I must say that I think it is our favorite! There was tons of playground equipment with big slides, and we were even able to get Dane a blue slushie from the nearby ball games. I think the slushie was the favorite part of his day.

Weekend Fun

On Friday, Lex, Liam, and Libby came over for a short visit while Angie had a school event with Luke. Dane had a lot of fun playing with his cousins!

Me 22 weeks pregnant, Libby 9.5 months, Dane 1.5 yrs, Liam 2.5 yrs, Lex 4 yrs

Look at those blue Willson eyes!

Dane loves to play with water and is always asking for cups of it. So Saturday, I gave him a big bowl and we took it outside. I couldn't believe how long he was entertained by such a simple thing, ha ha. Later that day, I took him to Kmart and bought him a cheap little plastic pool so he can play even more. Again, he had so much fun splashing around and pouring water into cups and containers. Life's simple pleasures!

Weekend Getaway

This weekend Alek and I were able to get away to Grand Rapids for a military conference while my mom watched Dane at our rental house in Grosse Pointe. We attended a ball on Saturday night and it was a lot of fun to get dressed up and dine and dance together. When we returned Sunday evening, I was a bit worried Dane would be upset with me for leaving him for two whole days, but he was full of smiles and so happy to see us both! It was such a great feeling to see him so happy!
