Dane's Homemade Baby Food

Once Alek is home and we are cooking more, Dane will just eat what we eat. But until then, this is easiest on me because I don't make a lot of meals for myself.

Daddy's Birthday

Dane was able to celebrate daddy's birthday with a yummy, sugary, cupcake! We also went to the park and swang on the swings. Weeeeeeee!!!

Dane is starting to be able to walk a little bit with his push-walker.

Anytime I sit down, Dane is right there at my knees wanting my attention =)

He knows the word B A T H

The other night I was talking to Dane and I told him later he was going to take a bath. His eyes popped open wide and he took off screaming for the bathroom. I was in total shock because I didn't realize he knew the word yet. I got a video of him sitting in the hallway just after he took off.

We love summer vacation!

Now that I am on summer vacation, I am able to have a lot more fun with Dane. We have been going to Project Playground and swinging on the swings, which he just loves to do. When I go to take him out, he puts up a big fuss. He just really likes to "hang out" and watch the other little kids play. We also went swimming for the first time at a local hotel. Dane was very scared at first and clinging to me for dear life, but after I put him in an the inner-tube, he really started to enjoy himself =)

Pictures from Dad

Alek sent some pictures from his last mission. The temperature got up to 140 degrees. I cannot imagine doing physical labor in that kind of heat AND having to wear all that gear!

Here is some info on the pictures:

This bridge is called a Mabey Johnson Float Bridge. It is a British design and very similar to the Bailey Bridge only bigger, stronger and heavier. Every Mabey Johnson Bridge we construct has an MLC of 110. The big red box things that the bridge sits on are called flexi-floats. On both the up-stream and down-stream side of each individual flexi-float is an anchor system comprised of a 700lb anchor special polyurethane/nylon rope spun on a winch. We kedge all the anchors then reel each winch in...which not only secures the bridge from any reversing currents, but also allows you to ensure that each section of bridge is perfectly on a center-line. The fourth picture is of anchors waiting to be kedged on the downstream side of the bridge.

Our First 5K Race

Saturday, June 5, Dane and I walked our first 5K Race named after Billy Mills. Next year I am going to run it. I am determined =)

Growing So Fast

Dane is growing up so fast! Everyday he amazes me with something new that he has learned to do. (Double click on the videos to bring them up full screen.)

Dane loves to dance to music. I have been trying to video record it for awhile now. I finally was able to get a short clip =)
